Adam Russo, Founder | Adam Russo is a lifelong learner who is deeply rooted in the West Michigan communications community. As the owner of public relations firm COM 616, his professional experience includes working with global brands like Haworth and Amway, regional companies like Varnum and Comcast, as well as nonprofits like the Mosaic Film Experience and Sunset Retirement Communities. Outside of the office, Adam is committed to community service and fitness. He currently serves as an executive board member for the Literacy Center of West Michigan, a board member for Affinity Mentoring, an ambassador for the Grand Rapids Chamber, and a member of the Kent County Prevention Coalition. He is also the former president for the West Michigan Public Relations Society of America. Adam enjoys playing with his dog, training and competing in Ironman triathlons, as well as traveling and hiking with his wife, Meghan. He is a two-time Grand Rapids Business Journal “40 Under 40” honoree and a two-time finalist for the Grand Rapids Chamber’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year. He also has served as an adjunct public relations professor at his alma mater Grand Valley State University.

Alexis Stark, Copywriter | With experience in many different realms of writing, Alexis is a storyteller, determined to spark social change, one Oxford comma at a time. She graduated from the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University, with a minor in LGBTQ & Gender Studies, where she self published a children's book and developed a love for reading and writing poetry, along a passion for social advocacy. Previously, Alexis wrote for The State News and the Ann Arbor News, focusing on stories about education, community and prison arts and poetry, before relocating to the Grand Rapids area. When she’s not writing or editing professionally, Alexis can be found at the zoo, the beach, hanging out with dogs, or sitting in a pile of books she owns, but could not possibly read in her lifetime.

Amanda Hume, PR Coordinator | Amanda is a senior at Grand Valley State University with a major in Communications and a minor in Advertising and Public Relations. She is currently the VP of Programming for the GVSU PRSSA chapter, where she coordinates speakers and plans events with other professional organizations. Being able to network and create relationships with her peers and other PR professionals in the community is something she enjoys most about this industry. She also participated in the 2019 CreateAthon, where she stayed awake for 24-hours creating a campaign for a local nonprofit. Amanda enjoys visiting new coffee shops in the Grand Rapids area, spending time with friends, and going out to breakfast.

Zendra MacLeod, Design Partner | Zendra is a curious creative who is always trying something new. Throughout her career, she has worked with a range of small businesses to nationally recognized brands. She loves collaborating with businesses and discovering opportunities to help them drive their brand message forward. One of her main principals in designing is to keep it simple whether it’s a clear call to action or how you navigate a website. Outside of the office she enjoys being outdoors or working on a project in her home studio.

Nate Abramowski, Video Production Partner | With a longstanding history in photography and video, Nate continues to use both mediums to bring clients meaningful stories and compelling visuals. After noteworthy success within television and film production in New York City, completing an MFA at the Savannah College of Art & Design, Nate loves new challenges. As the founder of Icon United, this production studio has served as a center for creative endeavors of all kinds. When not behind a camera or in front of a computer, running and biking are essential day-to-day brain breaks.

Sarah Aldrich, Communications Partner  |  Sarah Aldrich is an open-minded word person who loves learning new things and having new experiences. She brings a decade of experience as a writer, editor, marketer, and PR professional to the COM 616 team. She began working in the industry while studying Professional Writing at Michigan State University, interning for the university, Martha Stewart, and National Geographic. Sarah was the first marketing employee at Founders Brewing, leading the brand’s growth for 5 years. She claims that becoming a beer snob at the tender age of 22 is both a blessing and a curse. Sarah then moved to Vietnam, where she started a freelance writing and marketing consulting business. She returned to Grand Rapids in summer 2017, happily reunited with her family and her dog, Tessa. Sarah has never-ending wanderlust and is a non-discriminant foodie, a book nerd, a runner and yogi, and a thrifting junkie.
